Our New Website Is Live! 🌐

We have some exciting news to share with you. After countless weeks of designing, building, tweaking, and overthinking button placements, the new Oakville Digest website is finally live!
Events Calendar
What we are most excited about is our brand-new events calendar, which we’re confident is the most complete in Oakville. You will find every notable event happening in town, with simple filters by category and date range.
Submit an Event
We’ve added a new submit an event page, making it much easier to send us events for consideration in the calendar and newsletter.
Featured Events
The events calendar also has a featured section at the very top, giving organizers the option to purchase paid placement for extra visibility in front of Oakville’s biggest local audience. You can find this option on the ‘Submit an Event’ page.
Partners Page
Local business owners can now visit our new partners page to learn more about partnering with us to gain exposure for your business.
P.S. You may have noticed the newsletter got a bit of a new look as well 👀
Oakville’s Patio Map is Back 🍽

Did you know that our newsletter’s most clicked link in 2025 was the Oakville Patio map? Believe it or not, people really like spending their short Oakville summers enjoying the beautiful weather while eating and drinking. 🤷♂️
You will be happy to know that the town’s interactive map tracking every outdoor patio across town is back, making it easy to find a sunny spot for lunch or coffee this season.
Users can filter by neighbourhood, Bronte Village, Downtown Oakville, or Kerr Village, and click through to get directions via Google Maps.
Outdoor Film Fest Returns 🎬
A unique & easy weekday activity returns this week in Oakville: Sunset Kino is back at Oakville Galleries in Gairloch Gardens, kicking off this Thursday, June 25 and running every Thursday evening through July 16. It's Canada's only outdoor avant-garde film festival, screening experimental work you won't catch at the theatre.
This year's program focuses on Ali Cherri, an artist whose films dig into what happens after catastrophe. The opening nights feature his award-winning work, including The Watchman about a solitary soldier keeping watch between Greek and Turkish Cyprus. Later weeks explore how people and places rebuild after war, occupation, and trauma.
Screenings start at sunset in the gardens, just bring a blanket and chair. If weather turns, everything moves indoors to the Studio next door.

Teams Honour Fallen Officer 🏆
Three local sports organizations gathered at River Oaks Community Centre last Monday to honour Toronto Police Constable Marc Pinizzotto, an Oakville resident killed in the line of duty on June 11.
Pinizzotto was a former Oakville Blades player, coached with the Oakville Rangers for four years, worked with the Burlington Eagles hockey program, and was a devoted supporter of the Oakville A's baseball team. According to A's coach Jeff Deveaux, Pinizzotto would sit in his beach chair with a bag of sunflower seeds, recording player stats at every game.
The Oakville Rangers, Burlington Eagles, and Oakville A's came together to remember his impact on young athletes across all three programs, with families traveling from near and far to attend.
Bronte Harbour Classic Sells Out 🏃
Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park hosted Oakville's newest road race Sunday morning, with 840 runners taking part in the sold-out inaugural Mercedes-Benz Oakville Bronte Harbour Classic 5K.
The Bronte Runners Club organized the event, with all proceeds going to the Oakville Dad's Community Fund in honour of Father's Day. The fund helps local families access food, shelter, and education support.
Runners tackled two distances: a 1K for kids 12 and under through Bronte Park, and a 5K route from the waterfront to Coronation Park and back. All finishers earned medals.
Families stuck around for a free Father's Day festival with live music, a beer garden, and more than 50 vendors from across the GTA.
