Old Oakville is always a popular spot for a scenic stroll, and soon those strolls will turn spooky too, because the Oakville Historical Society will once again be hosting their annual Ghost Walks, starting October 13th. 

These one hour haunted wanderings will take place every evening at 6:30 and 8:00, starting and ending at the OHS office on the Erchless Estate grounds. Advance reservations are required, and can be made online. Walks happen rain or shine, though thunder scares even the ghosts away, so dress for the weather!

Oakville’s 2026 Municipal Election will take place on Monday, October 26th, but voters can also take advantage of the Advance Voting Dates to make the process even easier. 

Advance Voting is available at Town Hall during October 7-10 and October 13-18, from 10am to 5pm. Six of Oakville’s Community Centres will also host Advance Voting on October 10th, 14th, and 17th. Further information about candidates, wards, and what to expect during the voting process can be found on the Town’s website.   

Fall is a popular time for markets, and Oakville has already hosted several of the craft and farmer’s variety. Next Friday, October 16th, will bring an entirely unique market experience to town, when Joshua Farm Gallery is set to host their Moonlight Market. 

This market promises art, magic, and mystical finds. Tarot readings, psychic readings, and aura readings will be on the activity menu, and a variety of artists and artisans will be showing off their “otherworldly” talents. The fun starts at 4:30, and with free admission all are invited to come see what can be found under the moonlight!

Last December, Oakville’s Tatin Bakehouse was recognized as one of the World’s Best New Bakeries, according to the popular food rec app Beli, and now the pastry hot spot as another trophy to add to their shelves, as they just won third place in the competition for Toronto’s Best Croissant! 

Organized by the French Morning Media Group and judged by a panel of food writers and chefs, the 2026 finals took place on Sunday, October 4th. In addition to earning 3rd place from the judges, Tatin also won over the crowd at large, as they were voted the People’s Choice for Best Booth. Known for their inventive flavours and exquisitely crafted pastries, it’s no flake or fluke that Tatin continues to be recognized here in Oakville and beyond!

Michael Boushy and Anthony Baxter once played Junior A Hockey together, and now they’ve teamed up again, along with third co-founder Jack Lavorato, to start endo, a software that aims to solve a host of inefficiencies in the sports agency business.

After raising $815,000 in a pre-seed funding round, their company recently launched to the public, with eleven agencies now running their business on the platform. The idea came from Boushy’s experience working as a consultant for a large marketing and talent agency, where he saw outdated systems that were causing major information gaps. The former teammates are excited to see their new venture make its impact on the sports agency industry.
