Mi Amor Opens in Bronte 🌮
Supplied to Oakville News
Bronte Village has a new spot for authentic Mexican food. Mi Amor Taqueria opened over the weekend at 111 Jones Street, after years of planning and permit delays that pushed the launch back from 2025.
The family-owned restaurant is run by a father-and-son team working as both owners and chefs. All tacos come on soft gluten-free shells with fresh cilantro and diced onions, and the name is a nod to the family's Latin heritage, mi amor means "my love," a phrase that the owner’s daughter says is often heard being said by her mother and grandparents.
Saturday saw a line out the door, and Sunday night drew a crowd for the Mexico vs England World Cup match. The restaurant is open Friday-Sunday, 1 to 9 p.m.
Oakville’s Second Heal Location 🍽
Oakville is getting its second Heal Wellness location, with the chain recently announcing they have secured a spot in North Oakville (no specific location announced yet).
Heal is a popular and fast growing smoothie bowl chain, specializing in açaí bowls, smoothie bowls, and clean-ingredient smoothies. The company pointed to north Oakville's mix of young families, commuters, and active lifestyle shoppers as a strong fit for the brand's grab-and-go model.
Heal currently has 43 locations open across Canada and the U.S., and this expansion marks Oakville’s second location after the downtown one opened back in February with an Apres Ski grand opening. Stay tuned to see what they have in store this time around.
Rain Barrel Sale at Heritage Park ☔️

Example of a rain barrel in use
Country Heritage Park in Milton is hosting a rain barrel fundraiser with pick up scheduled for Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. to noon, selling barrels in support of the park's operations and programming.
What’s a rain barrel? They catch and store roof runoff, and you can use this water for things like watering your plants. They help cut water bills, conserve local water, reduce stormwater runoff, and improve plant growth.
If you’re interested, pickup is at 8560 Tremaine Road and barrels start at $65. Contact Robin Read at [email protected] for the details.

Pride Halton's fourth annual parade is set for Sunday, July 19 in downtown Milton, with nearly 500 participants from about 40 groups marching down Main Street at 2 p.m. That's a jump from last year, and organizers say the growing turnout reflects stronger region-wide support.
After the parade, Pride in the Park takes over the Milton Fairgrounds from 3 to 8 p.m. with 80 vendors, live music, food trucks, a kids zone, and a 19-plus drinking area. It's the second year for the fairgrounds event.
