The Wearable Art Show Is Back Next Weekend 👗

TheWearableArtShow.com
New York, Milan, and Paris may have all finished up their Fashion Weeks for the year, but there are still plenty of designs to see on the runways of Oakville, as The Wearable Art Show is returning to town from Friday, October 23rd to Saturday October 24th at the St. Volodymyr Event Centre.
This fashion show and design showcase proudly promotes the work of Canadian artists, from knitwear to silkwear, and every other textile in between. It’s the perfect place to shop for one-of-a-kind wardrobe additions or statement jewellery pieces, because trends may come and go but art never goes out of style!
Council Votes Against Purchasing More EV Charging Stations 🔌
Oakville’s Town Council unanimously voted against expanding the EV charging network after reviewing a town report on the subject at a recent meeting. Though the Councillors noted that use of electric vehicles appears to be on the rise in Oakville, the 46 existing Town-owned chargers don’t seem to be generating enough usage to cover their current operating costs.
Though it was decided that the numbers don’t justify any kind of expansion of the Town’s EV infrastructure, Council will still investigate potential public-private partnerships that might help meet Oakville’s EV needs, and they’re also working on ways to raise public awareness of the existing stations and increase usage.
Unique Broom-Making Workshop Coming To Figaro Coffee House 🧹
Anyone looking to emphasize the “craft” in witchcraft this October will have the perfect opportunity, as Dalbakova Designs is hosting a Broom Making Workshop at Figaro Coffee House next Friday, October 23rd.
Tickets are $85 per person for this 18+ event, where instructors will be on hand to guide everyone in the coven through the broom-making process. All materials—including natural straw, twisted broom handles, dried flowers, and even some enchanted charms—will be provided, along with a cup of “Witch’s Punch.” Sounds like some spooky fun to get swept up in!

2026 Oakville Fall Treat Round Up, Feat. Suma Coffee Co. 🍪

The Oakville Digest
There’s nothing like an autumn afternoon spent at a cozy local café. For a long time, Downtown Oakville has held a monopoly on such places, but with the recently opened Suma Coffee Co. at 2460 Neyagawa Blvd, north Oakville now has a new go-to spot for inviting vibes and delicious treats.
Owned by mother and daughter duo Suman and Jessica Sharma, the airy café has a modern aesthetic and spacious booths, and their menu is intentionally curated to rotate with the seasons. Their pumpkin cookies are baked in-house and arrive warm, as do other baked goods like the carrot muffin. Everything would pair well with either the salted maple matcha or the blueberry pie iced latte, two drinks currently featured on their fall menu. Definitely the kind of new place that will quickly become an old favourite!
Restaurant Spotlight: Kerr Street Cafe 🍳
During its 16 years of operation, Kerr Street Cafe has earned a loyal following in Oakville, even topping Look Local’s Best Brunch List in 2025. Known for their modern twists on traditional breakfast foods, their menu has options to satisfy everyone, from the clean eaters looking for chia puddings and vegan breakfast wraps, to those seeking heartier fare in the form of a classic breakfast sandwich or a stack of buttermilk ricotta pancakes.
Whether you prefer to kick your day off with a fresh juice or a cappuccino—or maybe a brunch spritz on a Saturday—this is a spot that can easily be adopted into any morning ritual. The restaurant’s open concept combined with its popularity does make for a constant buzz from the crowds on weekend mornings, but when the food is this good, conversation can wait!
